Installing Multi-Terr
Note: The Web App application is supported on all electronic devices, but the desktop application in this section is available only on Windows 10 or 11. Because the desktop database is in MS Access format, and Microsoft does not support Access on any other platforms, at this time only Windows is supported
Play small video to show how to install and setup Multi-Terr version 5. Also shows how create login and synchronise information. If you are migrating from version 4, watch the video carefully as it explains how populate the data on the website.
If you have MS Access 2016 or more recent installed; skip this step
Install for free the Microsoft 365 Access Runtime from the Microsoft download page.Note: The runtime allows you to run MS Access programs without having to purchase a license of MS Access.
Instructions on how to install the Access Runtime:
- Go to the Microsoft webpage by clicking on the link below
- Scroll down to the dropdown list that says Which language do you need? and select your language
- Click on 32-bit Download or 64-bit Download button
- The buttons appear automatically after selecting the language.
- If you have a Microsoft Office product already installed, the 32 or 64 bit must be the same as Office product. Microsoft does not allow 32-bit and 64bit on the same computer. Note: if you are not certain if you have 32-bit or 64-bit; open MS Word, click on the Account button and then About Word. It is indicated at the end of the first line after the version number.
- If you do not have any MS Office product installed or if you have Office 2010 or 2013, we recommend to click on the 32-bit Download button.
- Open the downloaded application and follow the instructions to complete the installation
Click the Install button to install the latest version of Multi-Terr. Note: The installation does not affect your data, even if you have previously installed multi-terr, you can use this link safely to update to the latest version.
Note: The installation no longer contains the Excel printing templates, as the VBA code it contains to generate the layout is blocked by certain anti-virus. The Excel printing templates may be downloaded directly from the application under the Printing tab and the Download Templates button
After the installation
- Click on the GETTING STARTED GUIDE button in the menu, it will provide a step-by-step assistant to configure the application according to your needs
- Once the configuration completed, click on the VALIDATION button in the menu, it will validate that your data is consistent and up-to-date
